COURSE OBJECTIVES
Graduates of the course should:
• Have developed knowledge, skills and competencies to deal with the variables of management in organisations that operate in complex, changing and turbulent environments;
• Have acquired skills and knowledge and developed attitudes and values to enable them to:
• Have a sound and comprehensive understanding of core areas of knowledge relevant to management;
• Study at least one specialist and/or vocational area of knowledge to a high level of competence; and
• Integrate specialist and general management knowledge and skills to function effectively in the management of enterprises.
• Possess the necessary academic qualifications and have developed attitudes to pursue further academic and vocational studies that will enable them to adapt to a changing and complex work environment; and
• Have acquired knowledge and understanding in a number of important areas of management, including managerial skills, managerial research methods, tourism, marketing and human resource management.
The course provides for:
• A sound grounding in studies relevant to all enterprises;
• Study of specialist management areas to seek professional recognition
• Study of complementary and support areas for vocational relevance;
• Acquisition of relevant integrative knowledge and skills to promote flexibility and adaptability;
• An understanding of management that embraces the widest range of private and public sector enterprises; and
• Application of skills and knowledge in workplace settings.

Marketing studies will help you get a foothold in your chosen field and will give you the starting point for a long and fulfilling career.
You might want to rise rapidly from marketing assistant to marketing director of a large firm, you might want to more effectively manage a small business or you might want to get involved in a charitable organisation. Marketers are required in all types of businesses, around the world.
Opportunities exist in marketing management, production management, sales, marketing research, advertising, public relations and promotions.
PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION
Graduates of the course are eligible for membership of the Australian Marketing Institute and the Market Research Society of Australia.
COURSE STRUCTURE
Each of the level of a Bachelor of Management (Marketing) program consists of four terms, students are required to complete two units per term.
There are ten lecturing-learning weeks, followed by examinations in each term.
DURATION
Each level can be completed in 8 months of full-time study or 12 months of part-time study.
The entire Bachelor of Management (Marketing) programme can be completed in 24 months of full-time study or 36 months of part-time study.
DELIVERY MODE
The normal requirements for entrance into the program would be two passes, in the A-Level examinations or equivalent and demonstrated proficiency in the English language.
However those with other qualification who wish to enter the course will be considered on an individual basis at the discretion of the University.

ASSESSMENT
All units are assessed. Examples of types of assessment tasks include written scholarly papers, class presentations, examinations or creative projects such as portfolios of work or case study analysis. Students will be informed in writing about assessment requirements of every unit.
No Dissertations are required.
RECOGNITION OF THE AWARD
Awards obtained from the University of Ballarat are internationally recognised. All graduates, whether in Australia or off shore, receive the same recognition and standing, and are able to use their qualification for further education and career advancement.
